Helping People Get Back on Their Feet
Ashok Dilawri said it best when he said the goal of Crown Credit Solutions is to “get customers in a car that meets their needs, help them re-establish their credit and get them back on their feet.”
“Bad things happen to good people,” says Shaun Proutt, general manager of Crown Credit Solutions. “There is divorce, a death in the family, a lost job: If something happens that impedes one’s ability to pay, we understand. We’re not talking about people who just refuse to pay. We’re talking about people who get into difficult situations, get behind in their payments and lose their good credit.”
“No matter what happened in your past we’re here to help. We work with a variety of people who have good, bad or no previous repayment history and also people who have zero or no money down. In really bad situations such as multiple bankruptcies, multiple repossessions out of bankruptcy at different times, currently delinquent on all existing obligations, repossessions less than one-year-old or a history of writing bad checks over a long period of time we can even help with that as well.”
Proutt started his career at age 13 pushing a broom at an auto dealership. He moved into the banking industry but worked almost exclusively in the auto division at Wells Fargo. Eventually, he decided it was time to get back to working with people and discovered his passion for helping people with their credit problems and their vehicle needs.
“The entire concept of credit has never changed,” said Proutt. “It’s about the four Cs: Capacity to pay, credit history, collateral and character, and but character I mean things like stability, long-term residence, employment history etc.
“What I do at Crown Credit Solutions is help people get into a vehicle that meets their needs – it might not be the car you want but it will be the car you need – ad help them get back on their financial feet. And if they get better, it’s good business for us. Where will they get their maintenance done? Who will they speak highly of and recommend to friends? Ashok Dilawri wants to help people and it’s my job to make sure we do that whenever we can.”
